With the same kind of premium quality and emphasis on understated, luxurious living, Karimoku Case Study has delivered another super impressive interior with the ongoing partnership between the Japanese Keiji Ashizawa Design team and Danish architectural company, Norm Architects.
Outside the thriving megapolis is bright and hazy, punctuated by skyscrapers. It's a scene full of colour and bustle. By contrast, the simple and serene spaces of the Bellustar Tokyo is given a limited palette of neutrals with accents of texture from natural materials – oak, paper, glass andmarble.
This project is also the first project for Norm Architects in the heart of a metropolis like Tokyo where our design approach is applied to a contemporary skyscraper in steel and glass where the view is not nature but a vast urban landscape of high-rises and infrastructure.
Keiji Ashizawa offers a smaller version of his laid-back, wood-accented sofa. The chair’s airy low height enhances the size of the space while it also provides deeply satisfying comfort with its plush upholstered-foam cushioning. Beautifully crafted in solid natural or smoked oak, it reflects Karimoku’s masterly way with wooden furniture through careful attention to detail and uncompromising craftsmanship.
The A-S01 lounge chair is one of twelve tailormade furniture pieces that make up the first collection of Karimoku Case Study, the Kinuta Terrace project. The Keiji Ashizawa Design team draws on the natural references of the connected courtyard in an attempt to invite in nature as much as possible — in their design language as well as through their material compositions.

As you sink into the aesthetics of the space where noise is removed, you will find the mind at ease. We believe that the experience of traveling can be elevated by its sense of wellbeing, both through the exuberance of the city and the quietness of the home.
Bespoke designs are incorporated with existing pieces from the Karimoku Case Study range, enhanced by sophisticated textiles and finishes. Elegance is achieved with the pared back designs and signature, sculptural forms.
We expect the new furniture designs to be released in coming months. Visit the gallery to view the Karimoku Case Study collection and we would love to hear from you if you have any questions about this brand or any commercial enquiries.

An important element in the selection of furniture has been to emphasise the holistic experience we have strived to create - working with a layout that offers both intimacies as well as togetherness.
