This collaboration with celebrated installation artist John Lyall takes its inspiration from the Meccano toys which became popular playthings for children in the mid 20th century. Lyall describes the "rugs with holes" as his "most minimal artwork; they are irrevocably Meccano, they hover between a colour presence on a floor space, and a conversation with an actual scale metal piece of an engineering toy".

Dilana has been hand crafting New Zealand's most luxurious rugs for over 35 years. Since opening their Christchurch based Workshop in 1980, the company has successfully collaborated with many leading contemporary artists. The Dilana legacy can be seen in some of the most distinguished homes, commercial buildings, art galleries and museums throughout the world.
