Hans Bølling created his iconic Duck and Duckling as a playful tribute to a story in his local newspaper. In 1959 a family of ducks waddled into traffic on a busy Copenhagen street during rush hour. This prompted a policeman to immediately stop all cars and pedestrians so the ducks could cross unharmed.
Bølling’s now-famous Duck and Ducklings have won the hearts of design aficionado's throughout the world. Each piece is handcrafted from teak and features smooth, rounded forms and exaggerated beaks. They are very cute and elegant, making them a charming addition to a desktop or display area.
