For Christchurch sculptor Bing Dawe, art is a vehicle for communicating his wider concerns about political, cultural and environmental issues. Since the 1970s Dawe's sculpture has addressed issues such as the proliferation of nuclear technology, the politics of energy resources, factory farming, and environmental degradation. In his hands these works go beyond the protest to the heart of the human condition.
Dilana has been hand crafting New Zealand's most luxurious rugs for over 35 years. Since opening their Christchurch based Workshop in 1980, the company has successfully collaborated with many leading contemporary artists. The Dilana legacy can be seen in some of the most distinguished homes, commercial buildings, art galleries and museums throughout the world.
This rug has been hand tufted from the finest New Zealand wool at the Dilana workshop in Christchurch.
Dilana rugs are created in collaboration with leading New Zealand and international fine artists. Rugs are produced in limited editions. Size and colour may only be customised on approval of artist.

Bing Dawe, born in Otago 1952, is considered one of New Zealand's most prominent sculptors. Dawe views his art as a vehicle for communicating his wider concerns about political, cultural and environmental issues. Since the 1970s Dawe's sculpture has addressed issues such as the proliferation of nuclear technology, the politics of energy resources, factory farming, and environmental degradation. In his hands these works go beyond the protest to the heart of the human condition.
