Simon’s work draws heavily from his long held interest in European, English and American Modernism and Surrealism. His work interweaves artistic concerns with personal passions opening the door to a more varied dialogue, one that contains figuration and symbolic references to the landscape and the body. For this collaboration Simon began with a work created on antique linoleum then embraces technology and explores the possibilities of digital and ink dye process in rug creation.

The Designer /
Simon Ogden
After following the work of Dilana for over two decades, Christchurch based artist and associate Professor of Fine Arts Simon Ogden expressed his interest in a collaboration. The result was a series of four ambitious works entitled the 'Kaitareti Rose Series'. Simon particularly loves the juxtaposition of textured loop pile versus the rug maker’s take of the paint splotches over the works surface.
